New Flitedeck - Gear Tooth Indicator Not Showing in Cadence(4 posts)

New Flitedeck - Gear Tooth Indicator Not Showing in CadenceBaadDawg
Apr 24, 2003 10:08 AM
I have a new Flitedeck wireless SC6501 and I find that the numerical gear tooh indicator which displays for 2 seconds after a shift does not display in Mode 2 when Cadence is displayed on the top in large numbers.

Is this a setup thing that I missed or is it the way its built? Others have posted that the gear tooth display works for them when using the large cadence number on top and this has me totally stumped.

Here is a link to the manual:

Am I missing something in setup? or is mine a newer version with a glitch?

Any help would be appreciated.

There is nothing wrong with your Flight Deck. With cadence on top and speed on the bottom, a shift will not show you the tooth number...I assume the reason is so that you will always be able to see your speed. Regardless, nothing wrong with your computer. I have had one for about 2k miles and really like it...and I actually perfer not having to see the 'tooth number' display when I shift, as I find it sort of annoying when it pops up in every other mode besides Cadence/speed.

Agreed. The tooth number display is a useless small annoyance.

Thanks for the replies. Only reason I asked was because others were saying their gear tooth indicator did show when using cadence as large display. But they reported back saying they had misunderstood my question.

Funny how the thing I would like is the thing you dislike.

Maybe once I am totally dialed in to the new ride I will feel the same way. For now knowing the exact gear numbers helps.
