|I was getting ready to buy some 105 brake calipers on-line for around $50. I hear the bike expo is coming to Los Angeles this weekend. I have never been, but was wondering if I can get a good deal at the expo. Would love some input from those that have been in the past...|

|$50.00 isn't bad for those, I doubt you will find a deal like that at the Expo (I've been to it a couple times and its actually kinda crappy if you ask me)|

|...I've gone the last 2 years, and it was disappointing. Most companies are simply displaying product that they introduced the previous September at Interbike, and rarely even bother to bring a comprehensive sample of their line; virtually none of the obviously bored company reps will discuss their upcoming models, so what's the point? You'll probably get just as much (if not more) useful info by lurking here on the RBR boards. As for deals, the
bargains I saw there were at the Kenda booth, if you happen to be a fan of their tires.
Spend the time you would have wasted at the Expo on your bike....

|I can't say it enough (and I have said it many times) don't waste your time. The expo sucks so bad they should pay people to attend. I asked the directors for my money back last year.
It is true what the other guy said about lame reps. Shimano would not give me any details what so ever on the new 2003 XTR last year. "We are not allowed to talk about it", the guy said.
WTF!!! Like I'm gonna steal their ideas and build my own. What is the point of having an expo if the reps cannot talk about the products that you want to buy. Shimano was probably keeping a lid on it so they could get rid of the remaining 2002 XTR which really sucked.
Do I sound bitter? DOn't waste your time or money on the expo.
