Just saw it on OLN and was impressed as I sipped my beer. What a brutal Race. The racers have to be tough but so does their gear. Anyone know what the wheels and tires used for this race are? They used what looked like normal tires and wheels though parts of the race (the cobblestones) looked like you would want a cycle cross setup. Thanks

The second link has a section on wheels/tires. Links say "belg", but there are some P-R pics.

Standard wheels are the order of the day (32 spoke, 3X) with 25-28 mm tires. Remember, a lot of these guys are under 150 lb/70 kg, so a 28 mm tire pumped to 5-6 bar is PLENTY of support. As with other races, it's about 3/4 tubulars and 1/4 clinchers.
