Trek wont be producing a "" compact "" frame from what I understand. But, two new frames will be available in late 2003 like Dec. or Jan 2004 both being carbon. Perhaps a minor sloping top tube but nothing compact...well unless you consider that to be "compact" compared to the origianl OCLV. However, a compact frame would be sweet! Hopefully what I have been told is wrong :P Regardless they will be available in ALL sizes

I have been working pretty feverishly trying to crack the case on this one. My Trek and Lance sources have only told me semi sloping and that soon they will be out. This morning Lance came clean on his site that he will be on one for LBL.

A lot of speculation on wether it's all carbon or a knock off of the Lemond Tete de Corse. My most reliable info has been that it is all Carbon.

The "Semi slope" is a compromise as the early/first versions were fully sloping and Lance did not like them so much. He even jokingly referred to them as "girl bikes" among other things.

Its all CARBON. Ok he said a "" new frame "" now that can mean many things. The 5900 was a new frame for the year 2000. He did not say it was a "" different design "" although, one of the two new frames will be VERY new as I understand it. Hint: another manufactuerer built one but in limited sizes. What frame does Trek not have that another manufatuerer produces besides compact or even in addition to compact. hmmmmm more to come

Maybe we should talk offline on this one and compare notes? I can't fully disclose on the message board or else I'll never get any more cool scoop. I have a pretty good idea where your info is coming from (I remember a thread from a few days back that gave me a hint), it sounds like we both big pieces of the puzzle. If your interested shoot me a mail and I'll give you the breakdown I have...

hope you're recovering well.
