Apr 19, 2003 6:58 PM | | Just a question out of curiosity. I saw this guy all last year. Saw him again this morning on 101. He looked like he was wearing a Schroder Iron jersey? Just wondering what his story is (I'm sure someone in San Diego knows), I've never seen a guy wearing a turban while riding. Does he have a helmet under there? Maybe he has an aero advantage like that :) Maybe he is an Indian Sikh. I had a Sikh friend once. |

I am a Sikh, and a road rider and racer. I am sorry you find our religious practices ridiculous, and to wear a turban while riding is not to your approval. Yes, it may be dangerous, but thats the choice we make to practice our religion. I can respect your personal opinions, but would appreciate some understanding and tolerance for other people's beliefs. Where I race [in Asia] I have a dispensation from the UCI to not ride with a helmet. Let's just leave it up to people to decide how they want to ride and what they believe in. Thanks |

I didn't want to start a fight, I just wanted to know who you were. You kind of stick out...and I was just wondering. I think Bruno was just commenting on the fact that you don't wear a helmet (considering the danger) and not on your religon.
