Velonews reports that the UCI deemed these bars illegal for mass start events due to their nontraditional shape. Deda assumed that they would be legal since the extensions did not extend past the brake levers. Surprise!

he said they were leagal(at the time).I guess now they are not!I wonder if they would say anything if you hade them here in the states in a cat 3 race?

I've read debate with good arguments both ways. Not clear, from what I understand.

I've searched Velonews and the only reference I found was announcement on product, which stated it is legal.
read it one of the latest issues...C-40

I received two issues of Velonews on the same day recently. The article is in one of them.
