Do some research on Pilates. Perhaps a local library has beginner's video. Tapes for sale on line at www.gaiam.com , type in "Pilates". Beginning Mat Workout will be more than adequate for your needs.

Bob Anderson's 25-year-old book, "Stretching," is still one of the best. You can often find it in used bookshops for a couple of bucks.

Something to consider - there was a study in the past 6 months or so which showed that stretching was not helpful in preventing injury - this was speculated because the movement used in stretching or not that same as the ones you do while riding. They also found that stretching may actually make you more prone to injury possibly because of damage from stretching itself. I myself have never stretched, and never will. I simply do a short warmup period of easy riding, and have never had a problem.

that is what I do. I have a warm up ride and a cool down ride. But I have stopped running and swimming (and racing triathlons), only riding and I find my legs are tighter??
My streching is and has always been minimal. But I plan to start the Swimming and running again sometime this year.

Go to performbetter.com and they sell a biofoam roller which is about $17. It's a 3' long 6" diameter polystyrene roller that comes with an easy to use booklet (with pics) to describe how to use it to stretch out and/or massage before or after a ride. I started using one about 5 months ago and it rocks. Seriously.
