|Today while riding my first road ride of the year, my hands were going numb. I ride Planet Bike gloves that have gel packs in critical areas. I'm wondering if it's normal to go through this what with it being my first ride of the year, or if I should look into buying new gloves. My ride was a 15 mile hilly course. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good pair of gloves? I have been an avid MTB'er for quite a few years now, but last year I purchased a road bike to help condition me for off road. Problem is that I love the speed and the responsiveness of the road bike ride. Hence, I'm on the road more then I am off. So, what are your recommendations?|

|1. Loosen your grip on the bars. The only time my hands go numb is when I'm gripping the bar real tight.
2. If your hands go numb, bend you arm so your hand touches your shoulder. Do this a couple of times. It pumps blood into your hands.

|Sounds like you might be locking your elbows.
I wear Specialized Pro Body Geometry, and like them a lot.

|Sounds crazy but you might try tipping your saddle back a bit.|| |
