I was thinking...

It cost about $70 to enter the 'Tour de Phoenix' and 'Tour de Tucson' this year.

It goes something like this: $60 entry fee, $10 'processing fee' and $10 'minimum pledge'. What Bulls***.

For me that is a lot for a bike ride...

The Tour supports a hospice called 'Tu Nidito'. The tours are organzed by Perimeter bicycling association, out of Tucson. A few years ago Tu Nidito had it's hospice license yanked and the books didn't match with what the tours said they were getting and giving to it.

What I want to know...

How much of my money goes to admin, police, etc. Tu Nidito claims 89% of it's monies go to families in need. How much of the Tour's revenues go to Tu Nidito?

I'd like to get last years figures for all of these. Anyone know IRS links or other way to find out? Tu Nidito is non-profit, their books should be public, but I don't know how to check it out.

I love cycling, I'd love to help families in need. I don't want to line the pockets of organizers and administrators.

Just a curious Sunday night in Phoenix

thanks
