|Today I did a 70 mile organized event. The pace at the start was very fast, but I hung onto the second lead group. I was still with the pack as we started a climb and someone crashed in front of me. I had to unclip and get around them and I lost contact with the group. I fought to get back on but part way through my calves started to cramp and I wasn't able to stand and put any power to the pedals. There were other unfortunate happenings, but I already sound like a whinner. I was trying for under 3 hours and I rode 3:06. AHHHHHH! It's just kind of discouraging after all the training and work. Thanks for listening.|
|hey at least you did not get in that wreck.||the bull|

|I was in Greenville SC for the road race and right before the sprint it looked like every one was going to the outside!I was going to pound right up the middle!The guy two riders up got hung up on another rider.This guy on a litespeed with ksyriums was riding like a ass(you know who you are)!I knew if there was going to be a wreck this azzhole was going to be in it.But anyway as they were wrecking all around me and bodys were sliding everywhere a red Cannondale bounced off the road and the chainring went into my elbow.I was thinking how dirty his drivetrain was
as I was standing there uncliped but completely surounded by moaning people.What do you do?"Is everybody okay?",as I step over them making my way towards the finsh line.It was awsome the bike had left a chainring mark on my arm and I rember pushing it away with on arm and stopping with the other arm.One guy who saw the wreck came up to me and was all "youre the man I cant belive you did not wreck!"MY head swelled up as I tought about how lucky I was!Fortunatelly nobody was hurt bad.God,the day before there was a wreck too
but that one happened behind me.Lucky agian.So no matter how you place be glad you finished in one peice.

|I'm glad I made it in one piece and six minutes doesn't sound like very much, but in this ride everyone under 3 hours was Platinum and 3-4 hours was gold etc...|

|You're talking about the 'Tour de Phoenix'. Very good ride today. I finished in 2:53 I think. Lotta stupid crashes in the beginning.
Great ride, well organized, great weather for it too. Missed it last year.
Good ya didn't crash!

|I got my first Platinum at El Tour de Tucson, but I hear the easiest of the PBAA events at which to qualify is Tour of the Tucson Mountains (April 27). I've never done it, but it goes around the mountains, so its not hilly like it might sound. I did El Tour de Phoenix a few years ago, and I also missed platinum by a few minutes - but it gives you something to strive for next year. Was the crash you referred to on the hill on Shea, just before Fountain Hills? I've been in group rides there before, and often someone forgets to get on to the little ring in time.|
|That was it exactly. (nm)||blw|
