Just a reminder for the East Coast'ers...Swap meet at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome starting at 9:00am Saturday. Great bargins abound....several club rides at noon!! Our club is having a 23 miler....will have ride sheets available.

Only bad news is weather...chance of rain in the am with 20+mph winds.

The swap meet is rain or shine.
hey quad- about that club ride.....Becky

what's the pace like on your club's ride this Saturday? I've slacked most of the and work double-teamed me....but 23 miles sounds like a nice way to top off some bargin-hunting at the meet. I just want to make sure that the pace is something I can handle.
Thanks for the info.

if we go up to the meet. I may be interested in tagging along for a 23 miler.

Must be Swap Meet time, it's raining all week again just like the fall.

On our last club ride, it was mentioned that we all meet at the park directly across the street from the velodrome. Just look for the "Berks County Bicycle Club" jerseys in red & yellow. I'll be on a silver Trek 5000 with me quad or call me John.

As far as pace of the group....there is a WIDE range of abilities & speeds that we ride. You won't be alone no matter how fast or slow you go! Average may be around 15-16mph on this MUST wear a helmet in order to get a ride sheet. Awesome road riding in this immediate area!

Rumors also of a Southern NJ Wheelmen ride from the same area.

Parking is a bear, unless you get there around 7:30. Opens at 9:00. With the rain coming, wear old shoes or rubber Boots! There are stands set up on the grass on the infield & it gets REALLY muddy.

Also, bring plenty of $$$$$. There is a ATM in the Velodrome, but it runs out of money every year!!!! Usually by 11:00am!!! It's wild. I think the admission is $2.00. Stop by right around closing time. Some terrific bargins at that point! Also, check the trash cans & dumpsters! No kidding. You'll be amazed at what people throw away!

Easy directions, especially from Harrisburg or Allentown.

Follow rt 78/22 to rt 100 south. Take rt100 south (about 2 miles)to Rt.222 south.Make a right turn. Follow 222 south for about a 1/4 mile and turn right (you'll see the traffic!)There will be signs (although small). The 'Drome will be on your right & the park on the left.

Any other questions ???????? Ask away!!!!!
