Trackies do it all the time, I do it when i'm out on the road. Feels "Pure", as long as the shoes vent well, and mine do. It's comfortable, and it looks better (no tan lines). Why don't more riders adopt the "riding without socks" style? Why is it limited to the track?

Putting on socks takes time.
Putting on socks over wet feet well you get the picture!
Also in the trasition between swim to bike.Spray some Pam on the outside bottom leg of wetsuit it makes taking it off quicker!
I would wear socks becausethe bull

I dont want my shoes to get stinky!
You can wash socks and then there clean.
Might feel pure for a while but after a couple of rides
well yuck!
Socks are for cold weatherKerry

I only wear socks when it's cold. Otherwise, my feet are too hot. When the shoes get dodgy, I pull the liners and throw the whole mix in the washing machine (maybe 2-3X per season). My shoes wear out from other reasons than being washed, I have no goofy tan line, and my feet stay cooler. YMMV.
What do you do about the goofy tan line caused by your shorts?lonebikeroftheapocalypse

I hope you're wearing shorts...
