Newbie Look Questionnaptown

Hi new to the clipless pedal thing. Have a new set of shoes and installed the Look cleats. Everything works well except the SPD plate in the sole slides around an makes noise. When I walk, I sound like an old west gunfighter with spurs on. How do I get those things to stop moving around?
Thanks

Look for a little door under the insole that lets you remove that plate, most brands have a way to remove it.
What if they glued your insoles in?Kristin

That's what they did to mine. You can hear me coming a mile away, clanging the whole way.

Sweet LC. Those tricky devils. I guess you have to be smarter than the shoes. So... this doesn't bode well if I have to get help to be smarter than the shoes!

Or you can shove pieces of paper towels into the slots on the botton of the shoe to stop the rattles. You may have to re-do every year or two.
Spray foam will work (nm)Alexx

I had the same problem and here's how I fixed it.Poke a screwdriver or other flat head tool through the bottom slots were the SPD plate sits. Be careful to not poke through the sole, but if you do it right, a little diecut piece will pop open in the surface of the sole. A little trap door so to speak. You can them remove the plate and your life will be much richer or at least quieter.
A little dab will do ya!Kerry

Just put a shot of any waterproof glue in there. Silicone caulk, contact cement, epoxy, etc. Anything that you can add with a "pinpoint" tip. The silicone works well because if you need to, you can dig it out later with a small bladed screwdriver.

I wad up a piece of aluminum foil and jam it in there to make them stay in one place.
