I've been a fan of polished 'Dales for years... too bad they don't offer it on a regular basis (and on more models).

This, apparently, was a special scheme for Helen's Cycles... and I understand a bit of color... but in this day of rolling billboards, I would have rather seen the polish of old (yes, I know it's ironic considering the last 'Dale I bought) with simple black decals.

Be the bike.

Just bought one of these from GVHbikes. Sent it straight to Spectrum Powder for refinishing. I had asked either Gary at GVH or customer service at Cannondale whether a clearcoat was used over decals. The answer was: Yes. If no, I would have simply peeled the decals, and saved the extra outlay for refinishing.
My friend just got one...biknben

My friend ordered one of those from GVH. The one he got had a yellow fork. I would have prefered a naked carbon fork like this one.

My friend built it up with a bunch of red accents. My wife took one look and called it the condiment bike. She immediately thought of mustard, ketchup, and relish. We've been bustin him good ever since. He's gonna bag the red and just go black soon.

The clear coat is over the decals. I've had a polished C'Dale before. Over time, the exposed area will get scratched or blemished and won't shine like new.
so not too ugly right?cbutte

So one wouldn't look too foolish on it right? Maybe I could paint it later? Mja can you post a pic of the refinish on your bike?

I'm not a huge fan of polished frames OR green, but that one doesn't look bad at all. I'd probably prefer their polished/red frame, which seems to be THE CAAD7 color this year, but if the price is right, just get it. You'll love the ride. My CAAD4 has a custom C'dale paintjob as well and I can vouch for the quality of the paint. It looks beautiful - smooth and shiny.
