Confession of a sucker!Matno

Well, "impulse buyer" might be a better word for it. I called to order a mounting bracket for my Flight Deck computer today. Wanted the wireless but couldn't justify spending $60 for just a harness. So I convinced myself that wired is fine (I've never had wireless before, why should I care now? Heck, my last computer had wired cadence and a rear wheel sensor. Talk about wires).

Anyway, I call to place the order, firmly resolved to get wired, and the guy says "Are you sure you don't want wireless?" "Yes," I reply. Then he makes some comment like "cause the wireless is much easier to set up and we've had a couple of the wires get broken recently." Wham! Hook, line, and sinker. 30 seconds later, I'm confirming the purchase of my new wireless harness... I'm such a wimp.

And I don't even feel guilty! :^)
I would of done the same thing!!!lol!the bull

Hey sucker,

I'm one too.

Me: "I need a computer, how about this Cateye?"
LBS: "Hey man, you have Ultegra, you should give this Flight Deck a shot, it is way cool."
Me: "I dunno"
LBS: "Here, get on this bike and pedal and I will show you"

... 2 min later ...

Me: "Okay, I'll take one."
LBS: "Wireless or wired?"
Me: "Wired, I'm on a budget."
LBS: "Let's go look at that bike again... see how nice it is to have no wire? Seamless, beautiful, and no wire to break!"

ZzzzzzZZZZZzzZZZZZZZ (sound of reel spinning backward as I yank on the line.)

*Plunk* (sound of Master Card hitting the counter.

I LOVE that computer. Buy one. Today. And, yes, go wireless.

...done that. It's amazing how easy it is to use the credit card on-line. One minute I'm considering Speedplay x-3's. The next, ordering x-2's and listening to advice about the coffee caps. Oh hell, throw in a pair!! :) Post about your Flight Deck, I'm interested too.

I bought a wire version flightdeck and love it. There are many useful functions and the ability to control at your brake hoods is extra nice.
I have a black carbon fork and I concealed the wire with black electrical tape. You have to look very closely to tell there is a wire running up the fork under the tape. Basically, if you can manage to hide the wire good, it will look nice but there is nothing like wireless.

never try to justify the money you spend for recreation. buy the best you can afford and you will never regret going first class

Was in the market a few weeks ago for my 1st new road bike in 30 years. Ya I stayed on my Czech Favorite frame (repainted twice) and mostly 1973 vintage Campy stuff all this time, partly cause I'm cheap and partly because I was attached to it.

My budget was maximum 2,000 CDN.

4,000 CDN later I'm about to pick up the TCR1 Composite (with a wireless FliteDeck I might add).

You ain't the only one overspending.
