Vintage Colnago paint schemes?(6 posts)

Vintage Colnago paint schemes?analog1

I just bought a vintage Colnago. I'm trying to put a date on it and can't find anything online. It's got a blue to white fade through a lattice effect. Columbus SL. Chromed curved fork. I'm thinking 80's but it seems like the fancier paint came out in the '90s. I dunno.

Can anyone help me out? Resources? Ideas?

The lattice fade effect and the curved forks were seen a lot on the 80's Mexico frames. (Frame name, not built there) and some of the Olympic frames too. If you take a picture of it, send it to sales@trialtir-usa.com, which is the email for Gianluca who is head of sales. He's a really cool guy, but his English is not the best, so you may have to deal with that.... but he's a good guy and will help you out if he knows what it is.

This is a 1988 Super and it's the same paint scheme.

The 'Retinata' style dates from the mid about 1985, and was of course copied by many other frame makers.
