I think the pain is developed when I was on the hood while climbing. The pain happen on both hands, not a big deal but really a nuisance. Anybody experience that? Do I need to stretch my thumb muscle?

I went through this last year, and interestingly, I was training for a mountain race and climbing hard and often. Likely a tendonitis injury from road vibration. 1.) Change hand positions often; every 2 minutes or so move from the hoods to the drops to the bar top to the bar bends. The switches help relieve pressure. 2.) Gel. Pearl Izumi gel-lite glovesb are great. Cinelli gel tape is supposed to be great; I just got that and don't yet know, but is sure is comfortable. 3.) Carbon fiber. That will dampen road vibration. I just upgraded to a Look bike and love it, but I have no opinion about long term performance.

Good luck! It's miserable and when you're race day is set in stone, you need to find a way through it. Ibuprophen!
