What is with the .95 miles-do you trust your computer that much?MB1
Apr 1, 2003 7:40 AM
On rides shorter than 50 miles I toss out any extra disance over whole miles. 50-100 miles I toss out a mile plus any extra. Over 100 miles I toss out 2+ miles.

I figure there are just too many variables to trust the computer all that much.
every little bit helps. i earned every .01 mile saturday. nmJS Haiku Shop

March 525, ytd not much higher ifvindicator
Apr 1, 2003 7:37 AM
indoor is excluded. Mabye 25 of the March miles were on rollers, the rest outside (exact figures are at home).

Jan and Feb saw some outdoor rides but not many, so I'll guess 750 ytd outdoors.
How pathetic am I? 201 (1st ride March 7th) (nm)mleptuck

I'm jealous. I just hit the 50 mile mark!Kristin
Apr 1, 2003 9:08 AM
Well, I'm not actually jealous. I'm not going to compare myself this year. I have a couple big (for me) goals on the horizon and a plan that launches on Monday. Happy riding!
Oops, actually, I've done exactly 54.99 miles. nmKristin

Goals are goodmleptuck
Apr 1, 2003 10:48 AM
I've got some decent goals as well (and frankly, I'm doing them for myself, so I'm trying not to compare myself to anyone else either)...

1) lose 50 pounds (60% there -- went from 249 to 219. Goal is 200 by mid-June)

2) ride 2400 miles (NO trainer miles counted) on the road in calendar year 2003 (I've actually already upped that total to 3000 since I wasn't anticipating being able to ride in March outside)

3) ride in my first metric century (Taxing Metric on April 26th -- it's a killer from what I understand)

4) ride my first real century (haven't specifically pinned that one down, but I'm thinking August or September)

Not bad considering I've been at this road biking stuff less than a year (reformed ice hockey player).

Keep me posted on your progress.
Just over 1000 last weekend. nmafrican

Bought my road bike 3/14. All prior miles were MTB on the road (offroad mileage excluded). Immediate impression? Road bikes are a little more efficient.

A 30 minute haiku (meaning it took me 30 minutes) to honor you and your assistance in my transition:

the road miles slip by

I'm at about 350 YTD. Bad weather is the main culprit. I would guess that 200 of it was in March. I was out of action for the last two weeks of March with a bad chest cold/flu. I am finally feeling better - gonna take a day off tomorrow with the kids, but am going to do 35 in the AM before they wake up.

the time on the rollers. I'm too lazy to go add that up. I would guess 5% is on the trainer. The weather here has not been all that bad this year; lots of time outside.
