Castelli sizing question.(6 posts)

Castelli sizing question.ryder1

I'm to order some new bib shorts and jersey and am switching from PI to Castelli. I am 31.5-32" waist and 39-40" chest and 6' tall, right at the low end of the Castelli large on their size chart (waist 32-36 for large, chest 40-42 large, waist 29-31 medium, chest 37 -39 medium). I normally wear PI medium. Will Castelli medium be too small? I am afraid that the large will be a bit too big since I'm right on the borderline. Any help from similarily sized Castelli wearers appreciated...............

I am 6 feet, #170, 41 chest and 32 waist. I wear an L in a Castelli Kit. I even have some XL Santini and Nalini stuff, but L is nicer. I don't think I could go down to M.

The shorts are long (like Lance). Santini now makes a 'Pro-Cut' shorter bib. Click-through to bicyclinghub.com

Mediums will REALLY bind your crotch (you won't be able to stand up straight)- Castellis with the mesh back (usually a Progetto pad) are not the stretchiest vertically and they should really be sized by height. Also, Castellis usually have a shorter inseam than most others. I'm 6'1" with the same waist as you and I had to get rid of my mediums. PI uses US sizing anyway, so there is no comparison.
Agree, they fit snug 'vertically'. nmSpunout

I have large Nalinis and several other brands, as well as the Castelli. The lg Castelli barely fits me-I should have gone to a XL for the Castelli, so lg should be good for you.
