|Weight Penalty for Record Triple?||Franchise|

|Does anyone know approximately how much of a difference there is between the Campy Record Triple group and the Campy Record Double? Thanks! I assume the weight penalty is negligible. As such, I don't see why I wouldn't want a wider gear range.|

|If you compare the triple to as close as you can the same range, 13-29 cassette double, it's about 120 grams. I actually listed it all out and checked. That is assuming the 13-29 already has a long cage derailleur. That's as close to apples and apples as you can get. The gray area is whether you shorten the chain, what cogs you are comparing, etc.

|Thanks for the information. My choice is clear. It's going to be a triple for me!|

|Ouch! Okay, I'll admit that I'm a wuss! It is very flat in the midwest, so when I go south to races or multisport events, my performance on the hills is quite lacklustered. The triple should help me out as well as prevent and knee injuries(Patello Femoral Syndrom, Iliotibial Band Syndrome - in my Hx).
Do you really think I'm a wuss? Just kidding.
