ode to Daylight Savings Time(4 posts)

ode to Daylight Savings TimeJS Haiku Shop

spring is here my friends
daisies, and dodging possum
we yearn for more light

when days are longer
riding farther makes good sense
my rear tire's squared off

promised self, did I
in "off-season" ride in dark
practice for this year

train in dark did not
rearranged work schedule, tho
thirty mile aft'noons

now another hour
afternoons turn forty five
home with sun to spare

my toothpicky legs
not hairy like spider, those
white like polar ice

finally, reprieve:
as our star shines on my legs
no more "tan-n-go"!

sun brings warmth brings bees
must visit ER once per year??
please keep sting away!

hope, pity, equal
sun thaws fair-weather riders
have more companions

instead of from cold
as though they might melt away
they will hide from rain

J will keep riding
but soon less two layers, wool
ditch helmet cover

goodbye, cruel booties
so long, chemical warmers
good riddance, trainer

soon we sweat buckets
clothing salt outlines effort
drink more (beer) we must

sunscreen: must buy now
go to bed with glove tan lines
farmer burn on neck

enjoy while it lasts
for fall brings early dark, friends
then we start again

wind, cold, rain today
I might ride, I might not ride
why does J care so?
