|It is a Bell Fusion Rubicon Pro that I bought in 2000. I belive it is more of a mtb helmet b/c it came w/a visor (that I removed), it has smaller vents than most road bike helmets, and it is more "helmethead" looking. I'm wondering if I should just use it as my everything helmet or buy a nice new road helmet like a Pneumo or similar? One that is more vented, lighter, and more aero. Any thoughts are appreciated.

|I have a Garneau. Your Bell has that Beyond Thunderdome road warrior look. I say keep it unless you need one with better ventilation.|

|I recently bought a new helmet and you can't believe the difference in weight and comfort. I Wish I would have done it sooner. They say you should replace you helmet every 3 or 4 years. If you have the extra bucks, I'd buy a new one, or else hang on to the Bell a little longer but start thinking about a new one. I never thought a helmet would make that much difference, but it does. Think of all the hours that thing sits on your head....|

|I have a very similar helmet to yours (a Nemesis Pro) that used to be my only helmet. It's now my winter-time helmet after I got a Ghisallo, which moves much more air over my head and even seems to be quieter. The Nemesis Pro is warmer (for the winter) and keeps rain off my head better.
There's no good reason to change your current helmet, but you will appreciate a Pneumo/Ghisallo during the summer. If you do get another helmet, I'd opt for the brightest helmet color I can find (yellow) over the urban camo look of your current helmet. I like to be the brightest thing on the road for drivers to see rather than stealthily blending into the pavement.

|for only $73 shipped! The Ghisallo will be my road helmet, while I'll use this Fusion Rubicon Pro as my commuter helmet(w/o visor) and mtb helmet(w/visor). I may perhaps use it next fall, as a road helmet, when the temps get a bit colder/windier, too(again, w/o visor).

|I am going with a red theme this year. I have red tires and bar tape too. I also picked up some specialized gloves mentioned in another post.|
|Cool! I want the red tires, myself(well, black w/red trim). nm||jtferraro|
