DeBernardi geometry?(6 posts)

DeBernardi geometry?geeker

This is a longshot, but I've been looking at the DeBernardi aluminum frames at Sierra Trading Post. They're pretty tempting at $440 for Zonal model, but the geometry info is sketchy (only top tube length and seat tube angle) and I can't find any details on the Web. Does anybody know what the head tube length would be for a 59cm (the biggest STP has)? Also chainstay length and head tube angle if possible. Thanks.
I'm starting to wonder if they're even in business anymore.Kristin

CBike discontinued them (though you can find 2003's at a number of other shops), and their website is shut down.

The Zar International (DeBernardi/Ciocc/Coppi US importer) website has been 404 for a long time. After seeing the DBs at Sierra, I called a LBS who deals with Zar, and asked if the outfit was still in business. He said that they were. So I have no idea what's going on...Zar's site never had the detailed geo I'm looking for, anyway :-( .

Were you ever able to get more info? I have been looking at those frames at STP as well and am not sure how the DeBernardi frames stack up in terms of size or quality. I'm a little tempted just because of the price to take a shot at a 54 or 55 and re-sell it if it doesn't fit. Thanks.

from o'neil's bike shop of worcester, mass., who i'm pretty sure are out of business now, but used to carry debernardi. since it's so old, it may not be relevant now, but i'll give you what it says anyway. htese were all steel frames as well.

59 cm frame:
top tube: 57.0cm
seat angle: 73.0
head angle: 73.0
chainstays: 41.3 cm
fork rake: 4.50
