Mounting a frame pump(3 posts)

Mounting a frame pumpHillRepeater

Ok - stupid question - but I don't know the answer...

How do you mount a frame pump? I just bought a Topeak Road Master Blaster for my wife's TCR (has a pump peg, I believe). The pump came with a strap, but no instructions... It says something about a 'spring loaded handle' but I don't see how to activate it...

Any advice would be appreciated.

If it works like my Blackburn FP-1 (which I don't use anymore, I went to co2) it should have a spring loaded release. Push down at the none valve end and twist to the left at the same time holding the valve end toward you. That should release the spring so you can mount it. When you go to use the pump you do the opposite and push down and lock the release.

Turning the gray handle one way activates the spring loading for mounting on the frame. Turning it the other way fixes the handle for more efficient pumping. With the Topeak, you don't need to press down or do anything else special to switch from spring loaded to fixed.

The strap helps to hold the pump on the frame.
