That's what $74 billion for the first thirty days of the Iraqi war would have bought. I'm sure Ernesto would have appreciated the business. Kind of a sobering thought where our tax dollars are going.
Who spends only $5,000 on a Colnago? Real men pay $10G (nm)TJeanloz

Funny how the Demos had no problem with the concept of government by credit card when they were in control; still would have, but for the tech revolution of the 90's.

hmmm... I was just making a point about deficits in general, but if you want to make it political...

I don't know the history of Federal deficits very well. Tidbits that I know of are that Vietnam initially drove them up. Carter had $100M deficit (related in part to an oil embargo) which Reagan railed against as being irresponsible. Reagan then doubled the deficit, and then some. (The Big Lies are always the most effective.) A tax increase (Bush41) with an economic boom and stock bubble balanced the budget under Clinton, with slight restraints on defense spending. We now have a record deficit with just 2 of GWB.

Funny how Repubs say they are for fiscal responsibility when it's their policies that drive the largest deficits. Reagon knew it. The Big Lies are the best. Demos love deficits, but Repubs love big ones.

And the ones Republicans submit are way in the red. Here's the debt vs year chart (scroll down a bit)
