Is there anyone out there that knows about Crepitus? Man, my knees pop like crazy.. . but they don't hurt. It is nothing new, so I don't think I have something specifically wrong.
I just was wondering if it is common among other cyclists, or is it more a result of my 10 years of competitive long distance running... or am I just getting old (im only 30)?

|... actually, "crepitus" is a term that can describe more than one symptom of different ailements... however, I was first diagnosed with degenerative arthritis when I was 26 years old... following knee surgery (which, I was told, said surgery would increase the onset of the disease). In my youth, I was a practicing Karate ka and runner (though I've been told that neither could conclusively be linked as cause of my injuries).
Your best bet might be a checkup by a sports medicine orthopod... who could at least X-ray the joints. Indeed, I've had surgery on both knees, and both pop quite a bit... but only one has degen arthritis. Currently, I'm undergoing Synvisc therapy for the affected joint (going on one year since last injection) with decent results.
Sorry, but as they say... time wounds all heels...
Be the bike.
