Bar tape on aerobars?(5 posts)

Bar tape on aerobars?Matno

I've never had any on mine, but it seems like a good idea. Now I'm just wondering how to wrap them such that both sides are wrapped in the same direction. I've got Profile Airstryke's so I would like to have a continuous wrap (just one piece of tape) if possible. Anyone have any suggestions/instructions? Thanks.

mine are wrapped where the narrow part gets wider on the fore side of the bars, and only in sections where my hands typically rest. i use the foremost part of the bars to hold lights for longish rides. start with electrical tape on the bars and bar tape, then wrap over it, and finish just like the inside (stem-side) finishing of handlebar wrap. if you want to go all the way around, i'm not sure how you'd do it while keeping both sides identical.

I wrap both sides symmetrically, then use a piece of electrical tape at the seam. Don't know any way around that.

No it doesn't sound like a good idea. (nm)sievers11
