Sorry for asking a mountain bike question on a roadie forum, but here goes anyways.

I'm rebuilding my mountain bike wheels with a pair of Mavic X517 rims. They are much more narrow than my previous Ambrosio ones. My trusty Michelin rim strips/liners do not seem to fit, and even the narrowest ones I can find, 18mm, seem to be too wide for the Mavics.
Any suggestions on what to use?
Thanks.
Maybe Velox rim tape? (nm)jtferraro

Velox might not be best for MTBsievers11

They are pleanty of them out there. Acctually all of the better tap is was meant for that size of rim.

Velox tape will work, it comes in different widths...salsa has a nice syntetic that would work well. for a mtb I would recomend the salsa...the velox is made of cotton and will start to degrade if it gets repeatedly wet.
