When you stand and pedal, does your path tend to swerve a lot? I've noticed that Lance and other pros don't keep a straight path when out of the saddle - - they seem to take a serpentine path which seems like a waste of energy. It seems that keeping your path as straight as possible would be the most efficient thing and could save a few seconds in time. What say you?

as you observe. ButI've never thought about it. How extreme do you think the swerving was? I know I swerve a little, but my power output is not in that league.....

Swerving seemed extreme to me. More than I would do. The turning of the handlebars was pretty clear. I would say about a foot (12") in both directions.
