Flight Deck Mounting Insanity!!!!sievers11

Ok, first the rant:

Shimano has the worst instruction manuals in the world...even their expanded "shop" manuals are worthless. Park Tools website has better instructions for shimano parts than shimano does.

Ok, second the question:

The flight deck mounting bracket is meant to put the computer in the center of the bar. Great idea, allowing clip on bar to be added and removed...centers information. The problem is my Ritchy stem is larger than the clearance for the bracket, so I can only mount on the left and have sticking out way to the left or put the bracket to the right and have the mounting piece all over the handle bar tape. Either way interfears with a clip on bar. It could be mounted in the center but the computer would be at a 45 degree angle to the top of the bar.

Any Ideas on how I should mount this? Anyone else had this problem? Solutions/suggestions?

Thanks

... first off, while not as good as Campy's pdf files, Shimano Europe's website is more informative...

Secondly, Shimano has revised it's mount on newer 'pooters to clear many bulbous front loaders...

You can get an idea of it from this pic...

... while the computer is mounted on an auxilliary "stalk", you can see how long it is...

Be the bike.
