Had I gotten picked up that is. Coming down Lee Hill drive with a tailwind. 60MPH in a 20MPH zone (before I hit the brakes hard to corner). Would have been costly.

You actually would have gotten a free ride, in the police car. Anything over double the speed limit is a felony. My coach got pulled over for that, but because the officer was nice/ didnt want a wierd spandex clad, stinky guy in his car, he let him go with a normal ticket.

I was coasting downhill out of Palmer Park in Colorado Springs and was pulled over by a cop -- I was stunned. He said he paced me at that speed, but I don't think so... Cost me $20 as a junior in college back in 1981...

About 2 years ago I was riding an early Sunday morning (9am). I was riding on a paved trail that goes in/out of Seattle (Burke-Gilman for those who know). Virtually no traffic, clear weather, and dry. Speed limit is supposed to be 15mph. I got ticketed for doing 27mph by a cop on an off road motorcyle with a radar gun. I tried to argue the point but just dug the whole deeper. Oh, well.
