Did anyone else notice how nice and friendly it's been around here. Nick must not have been able to get a connection to the net while in Aus.

I was hesitant to even mention it. I don't want to spoil it. I tried so hard to ignore all those endless posts. Now that they've ended, I feel liberated. Everyone has put their blow torches and flame throwers away and all is well again. Monday ride reports, bike porn, and fun sarcasm have returned.

Whew, I was getting worried there for a while. I was begining to think it would never end.

I was afraid to mention it as well, but it's been a breath of fresh air now that he's gone.

I never had the negative visceral reaction to Nick that many people on the board had. I always took into account that Nick was 19 and possibly still is suffering brain damage from the after effects of his crash. However, I have to admit that things are a lot nicer around here since he departed for Australia. I hope that if Nick decides to return, he realizes his immaturity, tries to act like a grown-up (I am sure that there are other people who are 19 or thereabout who act like the adults that they are) and posts under a new name so that none of us are tempted to flame him just because he once was . . . well, Nick.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I have a friend who's ridden and raced with him and says that's just his natural personality. He's just young, cocky and annoying. IME many elite juniors / espoirs are like that until they graduate to the senior pro ranks and get their ass handed to them on a regular basis. Bobby Julich certainly was that way, and it almost cost him his career.
