What's wrong with white socks?
Way too practicalContinental

They're inexpensive, easy to wash, and won't bleed dye onto your skin. If you're a serious roady your equipment must be outrageously expensive, difficult to maintain, and a little uncomfortable.

you need to have team-issue socks, so that you can only wear them with your (matching) full team kit.
Is there a problem with white socks? (nm)onespeed

tube socks. No cyclist tan; just a weird strip about 5 inches wide.
white = gauche. white with stripes at top = haute. duh! nmJS Haiku Shop

I use the dark blue ones on rainy days and MTB / 'cross races. Excel is a team sponsor :)

With Record 10, one-off black ano'd Record cranks (thanks Sherpa23!!) and Mavic brakes. It is one sexy rig. I'll have better pics to post soon. It's really hard to shoot decent pics of bike racers on an overcast day.

This was a training crit so I only have the black Mavic Cosmos on it for now. Won't break out the 303's until it's serious time.

This is a new color scheme that very few US dealers have yet. Because I ordered mine direct from Italy, I was able to get the fork custom painted to match, which is uncommon for any but the Geo scheme. I got it because it matches our team kit.
close, but not quite - very nice!Live Steam

I have been eyeballing the blue geo scheme painted Dream Plus with B-stay in my friends shop. Very sharp. Nah can't do it. I don't even have room right now for the bikes I have. Oh well :O)

Mine is yellow (AD14), and it's a 59 cm, 1998 model. Yours is spiffier with its carbon fork and threadless headset than mine, which has the stock Precisa threaded steel fork and Chorus (9 spd) group.

Great to see more Crystals around.

Yeah, I know it's not thier best steel frame, but I love that bike. I bought the frame back in 1999 on Ebay - new and unbuilt. I have to say that changing the steel fork to the Reynolds fork really makes a difference in the ride. The bike also shed about 3.5lbs with the change. I think that is substantial.
the color isn't the issueDougSloan

I probably have 30 pair of cycling socks, maybe 5 of which are all white. About 10 pair are wool.

The point is to have tight fitting, breatheable, socks, maybe with a little extra padding in the sole. You don't want some cheap cotton sock that wrinkles inside your shoe, or it will cause discomfort.

They must be low cut to show off your calf muscles and shaven legs, right?

White does show chain grease more easily, though.

At one time, all white was mandatory for USCF racing.

i'm wearing green "kiss me i'm irish" socks today, btw. nmJS Haiku Shop

I usually wear our team sox. Orange, red and white. Yes, they sound pretty ugly, but they go with the kit pretty well. We didn't get the nickname "The Orange Pop's" for nothing.
