|Questions about the big switch (shimano > campy)||cyclinseth|

|I've been thinking about making the switch from DA to Record and was wondering, would the DA cchainrings and front deraleur be compatible with the 10-speed campy chain? Would the front campy brake/shift lever be compatible with the front DA deraleur? I would rather keep the cranks, bottom bracket and front deraleur in order to save a little money, plus I like the idea of the splined bb instead of the square bb.
Thanks for your help.

|Although I'm not a Shimano user, I'm pretty sure that the chainset and chainrings will work. My 1995 8 speed Chorus chainset has been used on 9 speed and now 10 speed Campag and Saeco used 9 speed Coda chainsets when they first went 10 speed.
Regarding the front mech then this could also work. The only difference between Campag and Shimano here is that Shimano front mech shifters are 'indexed' whilst Campag are more like friction levers in that you can use half-pushes to trim your front mech on the fly. One UK magazine 'expert' marks Campag down for this whilst I think it's a most positive plus!

chainrings, certainly. front derailleur, I know someone who does it, and I have heard that it works. your chainline will change slightly, I cannot use big/big without considerable rubbing (my bike is small, the chain angles are more severe). small loss.

|you could but seriously, get the whole lot, once you get full Record on there, you'll be disappointed that you didn't get the cranks, they are beautiful things !! You can seel your DA group. Splined v Square is no big deal, I've had both, I can't tell the difference.|

|You'll need to change the chainline significantly. You'll need a new BB. How do I know this? Tried it with some Campy FSA carbon cranks that were lying around a shop at one time.
I'd do the whole enchilada if I were you. I've got DA 9 and Record 10.
