Well the snow is finally pretty much gone and I finally got back out on the road. Forgot to take my camera with which is too bad, the Lake Michigan shore is really cool right now with all the snow and ice on the beach and 100 yards of loose ice floating off shore. Supposed to rain tomorrow but if not its back out for more, with pics.

It was just a short cruise around town, but it sure was great to get back outdoors on the bike!

Amen, got out today too.Kristin

That fog lingered for a while and made me nervous, but once the sun came out it warmed right up. I hooked up with a fellow RBR'er and did a short ride. It was good to be back on the bike.

We've had a mild winter here (slightly cold but almost no snow) but got smacked with snow 3 times last week just when I was starting to think outdoor riding thoughts. Today it got close to 60, go figure.

I was out on Saturday for only the second time this year! It felt so good to breathe the fresh air and see the pavement passing under wheel. Mother Nature finally did Chicago right! I'm heading back out today for another ride. Can't wait!

With winter here, I've spent way too much time on the trainer. Yesterday provided to be a great day with my third time out on the bike this year. It was just part of a great day.

First thing in the morning I ran 8 miles with the beast, my dog. we finished in 55:03. Then shower #1. I went to my daugther's track meet were she ran a couple of very good time in the 4X800 and the 1600. Then back home to pull oout the Vortex and rode 25 miles on the bike. Shower #2. I then rolled the Harley out and went for an hour and half ride. I finished the day with dinner and a movie with my family. Does life get any better than this?

You lucky dogs....I spent 10 hours in the factory (money talks), but today(sunday) I'm going to try to get about 25-30 miles in after church. I'm almost drooling just typing this!

Got 25 miles in, loved it! Headed north to the lake, cruising effortlessly about 22mph. Turned back to a vicious headwind, fought to maintain 10-12 mph. Another observation...Every spring for some reason when riding in the drops when my thighs hit the top of the revolution, they simultaneously hit my belly, can't seem to figure out why.

Life isn't fair. 70 degrees yesterday. I road 55 miles with a friend - but without any energy. We planned another 50 this morning, but I woke up with a head cold, sore throat and body aches. HUH!! My first cold of the winter and it comes on the first beautiful weekend!!! That just isn't fair.

I was going to ride anyway..just suck it up and go slow...but my wife (an MD) reminded me that I would just extend the duration of the cold/flu and maybe ruin next weekend's riding. So, I'm staying home. Doing some woodworking while my friends are riding. BUmmer.

I guess I really can't complain 'cause I did 55 yesterday. But we've been planning this ride-a-thon weekend (got wifely approval) for a week. Maybe I'll get on the bike Wednesday. Be safe. Paul
