Look at the massive amount of quill sticking out on that Merckx. That is horrible! Guy must be an idiot to set up a bike like that!! ;)

This message brought to you by the newly formed Quill Police.

Moron! He says in the post that it's too small and that's why he is selling it... I take it in the world where you are king you have to have the stem all the way down into the frame, and if it's a threadless design, you have to ride no spacers... be damned if you try to set a bike up to fit you!
Hey Spade chill out... Me thinks this was tongue in cheek!Dave Hickey

I have actually bought something from that seller before and he was cool! I thought with all the posts lately attacking ebay sellers that you guys were taking shots at him too. That guy was one of the most informative and honest sellers I have run into on ebay. And it sure sounded like RJF was calling him an idiot.
People on this forum do sure seem to have a superiority complex when it comes to people who deal on ebay. I admit ebay isn't all it used to be before it got over run by dealers and scammers, but there are some good honest people on there and when you attack them, you deserve to take the same critical remarks back.
remark was about spacer police.......russw19

I actually have dealt with that guy too. Not cycling stuff, but I bought a shirt from him. And he was cool. But the remark is about all the people who scream about too many spacers on threadless setups. I don't think the guy was seriously calling him an idiot!

Ya gotta pay attention around here.Mel Erickson

This groups humor can get a little sarcastic. The post, and my reply, were totally tongue in cheek and aimed at the spacer police, not the seller at all.

Dude, it was a joke. Quill Police? Spacer Police? Geddit? I guess the only way I could have made it more obvious is if I started my post "This is a joke."

For the record, I run 3cm of spacers.

Eddie himself used to put his stem up really high (before his @$$ got huge), so maybe it's correct,
i monsieur pantelones intelligents!
Mar 13, 2003 5:11 PM
Everyone put their stem up pretty high in the old days. Again, that's my point, as lost as it apparently may be. ;)
This is really sad.djg

You make an obvious joke and then go ahead and end your post with the little smiley face symbol (the universal internet symbol for: "hey, I'm now announcing that I've been joking, in case that wasn't obvious by, I dunno, my being funny or something, because, laugh or not, I don't want anybody--and I mean anybody--to take this seriously") and yet there's all this bile called forth.
