|Emailed the guy and asked for a serial number for the IF, and he actually replied with a number. So emailed IF today and this is what they sent back:
Sorry to say that that serial number is definitely not an IF serial number. Sorry but at least you checked.
So it's definitely a fraud, anybody know the proper authorities to report this to?

|suspected fraud and couldn't find one. In my opinion, it should be easier to find than it apparently is, I guess Ebay just doesn't want to bring much attention to fraud and they deal with it internally. I can't stand the fraudsters and might create a fake handle and bid the thing way up.|

|I'm not that cynical. Maintaining its own credibility is the only way to keep the money coming in. The minute auctions can't be trusted, the whole thing largely falls apart.
I believe they do have a demonstrated interested in cracking down where they can; it is just that with hundreds of thousands of auctions (not an exaggeration) pending at any one time, enforcement is dependent on peer report and strokes of luck.
