My question is twofold. 1: what do people know about the new light steel tubesets, ultrafoco from columbus and S3 from Truetemper? How do they compare? 2: how do manufacturers compare? Any experiance with Strong vs Sano vs Landshark, etc?
Any general comments on Sano, I don't know anybody who has experiance with one.

ultrafoco, love it, compares to well to my Pinarello, Carl Strong is a great-guy-artist-fun-to-work-with-flexible, for the money he can't be beat. Did everything I asked, took all my phone calls, built me a beauty.

can't speak to the comparison with S3 though I'm guessing one would be tripped up in a blindfold test. to me, all the ultra-steels ride exactly the same.

know little about Sano except that I think their web site has good information about materials.

Buy a Strong.

I don't know much about the new tubesets, but I have a 2 year old Foco frame from Carl Strong and absolutely love it. I also considered Sano and found the people very helpful and friendly. Ultimately, however, I felt more comfortable with Carl because I found a lot of information from happy Strong customers. The closest I got with Sano was someone whose friend had a Sano and was happy with it.
I love this one.Alex-in-Evanston

This thing is the coolest bike I've seen in a while. If I wasn't drowning in the mortgage on my first house, I'd have an order in.

Check out Waterford. S-3 is not for heavyweights. If you are, you'd better stick with True Temper OX Platinum.
Carl has S3 and Truetemper experience...miposy
