Taking a bike on a plane...(2 posts)

Taking a bike on a plane...hammer_cycle

I'm curious if anyone knows of any type of insurance coverage that is available for baggage, namely a bicycle. My Amex 'baggage coverage' is only good for 2k, which isn't going to cover my bike in the event it gets lost, stolen, or damaged. Any suggestions? This is frustrating as no one takes responsibility in the event of damage.

Check with the folks your home insurance is with--often homeowners insurance will cover the bike.
I work for the airlines and bikes do not fare well. Buy a good case--I recommend the ones made by Bike Pro.
