|My 18 month daughter had a checkup today. Her butt-naked weight is 18.5 lbs. I weighed her at the same Dr. office two weeks ago fully clothed (no heavy jacket, we live in Souther California), with shoes and a dry diaper and the scale tipped 20lb. Keep in mind she is so small that she is off the chart on height and weight for a 18 month old (but very healthy).
Now imagine how much the average male roadie (5'10" 160 lb+) outfit weighs (helmet, jersey, maybe a jacket, underlayer, short, socks, shoes, and gasp, gloves). The weight is probably comaparable to one of those super light race frames (fork excluded). So next time you want to rocket up that hill ...

|What could you be putting on an 18 mo old that weighs THAT much- short of lead weights to slow her down? I say she GAINED 1.5 lbs in two days (they do that at that age, you know), or she missed dropping the kids off at the pool...|

|I think what he's saying is that we should ride naked, well not completely naked, a helmet is mandatory. Riding without a helmet just doesn't make sense.
