Mar 4, 2003 2:58 PM
|... oh, you said bike racer ...
by reputation, I'd say Laurent Jalabert, Johan Museeuw or Sean Kelly.
by really freaking cool name, Magnus Backstedt. Does it get any more gnarly than that?
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Adri Van der Poel sounds pretty cool, and I always loved how Phil Liggett says Mauro Gianetti, and Bo Hamburger gets praise for making me hungry every time he is doing something notable.
|Favorite italian cyclist's name? Fabrizio Guidi. (nm)||eyebob|

Kous Mourenhoot (I know my spelling is wrong.)
Paolo Lanfranchi (There's an Indian dish called a Lamb Frankie.)
Sven Montgomery (What a strange juxtaposition of nationalities!)
Peter Van Petegem (It just rolls off the tongue.)

Mar 4, 2003 6:55 PM
|...not in any order:
Jörg Jaksche - Phil NEVER gets this one right.
Floyd Landis - now that's a first name!
Tom Steels - just sounds hard.
Serge Baguet - sounds like French bread.
Danilo Hondo - now that's a last name!
David Moncoutie - another fine last name.
Luciano Andre Pagliarini Mendonca - wow!
Andreas Klöden - North German slang for 'testes'.
|Unai Osa, Inigo Cuest which some how comes back to me...||bent_spoke|

|phonetically as Indigo Quester, which could be a Batman villian(ala the TV series)... a line might go something like this."Quester..that move was DIABOLICAL! ..WHAM..POW!"
I also like Phil Liggets re-telling of a broadcast he heard of a guy who had to handle a breakaway containing "Belli, Ellie & Lellie". Phil says it was handled with out a hitch which must have been amazing...cycling's version of "who's on first" or the Three Stooges..take your pick

|he could ride too but the pressure of being tagged the next Merckx ate him up. he made it with plenty of chicks too if rumors are true - makes Cippo look like a geek.
heck - he rode a Gios and later for Bianchi - with a name like his im surprised it hasn't been mentioned.
