|I'm interested in a bike for brevets and thought this might be a good one. Anyone tried this one. I'd like something a little more sporty than a touring rig but still able to handle wider tires, fenders etc.|

|They are really a great bike. Perfect brevet bike near as I can tell. A better report can be had at http://www.blayleys.com/articles/bikes/. Nice use of the lowrider mounts for lights.
Some of my own thoughts. Great handling long haul bike. Ample room for fenders and fat tires. Nice low BB for a very stable ride. I have used mine with panniers and it rides really nice. Very light considering. Mine is built up with Ultegra Triple. Be sure to get the long reach Shimano Ultegra brake (not the cantilever brake).
For '03 IF is total custom. Consider a third water bottle cage and headtube extension. The paint jobs are amazing. Be careful for the first 6 weeks for the paint to harden as they wet paint. The complete PPG pallet is available. Welds are amazing. Like little fillet brazing.
Feel free to email me directly at email@example.com (remove 123 from the address) if you want to talk details.
