Crank removal on Trek 2200Deaner

Having just bought my first road bike, a Trek 2200, after MB for 10 years, I'm not sure how to remove the crank. I have the crank tool used on MB's, but it won't work on this Trek. Help!

What year is the bike? The last year and this year's bikes all had Ultegra cranks on them. It should have self-extracting crank bolts on them. Just hold the holes with a pin spanner wrench and take out the bolts like normal. Should pull the crank right off, no need for a crank puller.
Unless I am losing my mind....

Russ is not losing his mind, he's right. And if you want to make it even easier on yourself, there's no need to hold the two-holed cap with a pin spanner. Just insert the 8 mm Allen wrench into the crank fixing bolt and turn counterclockwise to remove the crank.
