|Who cares? Drink the beer. If you like stout, you might consider a Victory Storm King, Stone Imperial Stout, or Alesmith Speedway Stout. Whatever you do, drink the beer. It's un-American not to drink beer. After all, Ben Franklin said: "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."|

|I can't comment without first having the three questions answered:
1) Are you riding on an empty stomach?
2) How fast ar you consuming the alchohol?
3) How long does it take you to normally get drunk?
This then gives enough information for the fourth:
4) Based on the approximated intoxication will you be riding the 50 miles in a straight line, swerving or turning back on yourself then going in the right direction again... these questions will determine your actual mileage.
From there I will be able to determine whether you are gaining or losing calories. Ideally you'd want to sip the beer through a camelbak to keep your caloric intake steady... this increases the rate of carbs being used and reduces the ammount of insuling (fat storing hormone) being created.
Hope this helps,

|My friend Nick, you are just too young.....
NEVER EVER pass up a Guinness! If you are worried about the calories, mix it with a Harp and make a Half and Half.
You can't ever go wrong with the smooth sweet taste of Heaven known as Guinness! It's the only beer that if you go to a keg party and you don't poor foam, you are getting your butt kicked.

|Russ... after some thought (or lack of thought) I've decided your right. Why the heck would I go to Australia to train? Australian's can drink most people under the table so with this said I'm gonna say screw it and go on a rigorous drinking regime that will see me being able to drink an Aussie under the table by the time I leave! I'll of course use riding to keep my beer belly down and reduce hangovers.
PS With some thought this might never happen :)

|Probably not much different than three bottles of gatorade. I'd go with the motor oil.
Oh sorry this was a question for weight watchers, I'm not too effective at that.

|210 calories per pint=630 calories. You'd have to ride an hour or two just to burn that off. Plus it's mostly carbs so no protein to build up those muscles post-workout. PLUS...I've read that the body tends to hold onto alcohol like a fat (even though it is technically neither) and it can cause more weight gain than you'd think. hence the beer belly. A 50 mile ride is what...like 2-2.5 hours? You're probably breaking even.|

|Anyways this what I dug up:
Beer, Guinness, Stout
Nutrition data per 100ml
3 bottles = 9,900mL = 300 kcal = 1/2-1hr ride :-)
