The problem with "ride reports". (Hey, Gregg!)4bykn

While I do enjoy the many reports from so many of you, going through all the pictures can be prohibitively time-consuming for those of with dial-up connections. Some of the reports have taken me 15 minutes to load when I've hit "view all". I wonder if it would be possible to have the multiple photo reports display a thumbnail of the pic so we can sort through more quickly.

I remember my grandfather talking about having one of those after he got back from WWII. ;-)

...we had internet that was slower than riding to talk to my friends who lived down the street (it was uphill through a couple feet of snow too!). They called it dialup and it used phone lines that you tied you into the wall. None of this wireless stuff...

I think it started somewhere between the Pony Express and smoke signals. Sadly it's the only option where I live.

that wont help, unless you want the server to take the time to go thru all the files and create new thumbnail files for you. just dont view all, most people dont put all their pics in one post, you can generally get them one at a time.

or - just get cable or dsl, trust me, youll like it.

In my subdivision neither is available.

And if I want to see the photos, I still need to download them, whether singly or as view all. I suspect the time would be similar either way. My thinking was that if I could see thumbnails I may not want to see all the pics and could save time.

If you're hooked up at 32K, things are going to be really slow. I usually get 45K or 49K, and photos load pretty fast.

95% of the time I connect at 49.3 or 50.6

I enjoy the ride reports (especially MB1's), I'd just like a faster way to view them.
Does this work?DERICK

This should load faster because the thumbnails are really small images. At least you can choose the pictures you are willing to wait for. These are just some random photos I had. The carbon fiber C-cale is mine.

when I use to have dial up, or occasionally get stuck using it, i just open up multiple browsers so that I can read other posts while another is loading. speeds things up a bunch. lucky for me I have DSL.

I grabbed that serotta pictutre off this tite a few weeks ago. someone posted a link to an auction for this bike. The guy (I hope it's a guy) holding up the blanket is huge. Could be Shaq. He could afford a custom job like that.
