|While not in Illinois, there's a couple new guys, without much of rep that you probably haven't heard of right next door in Wisconsin :-) I think they are both less than 3 hours away.
Try these guys, I've heard they do nice work.
These guys have some hot shot pro spokemans that says he loves their bikes and dosn't even need a custom.

|again, not in illinois but close, is spicer. hes in evansville indiana. www.spicercycles.com or trackbikesource.com. he does very nice work, alot of track stuff, and hes been doing some pretty cool ss mt bike mods lately. theres gotta be a bunch of frame builders in chicago though. none that I know of however.|

|The only one that I know of is Courtney Cycles at cccycles.com I believe that they are in Geneva, Il.
The Waterford bikes are now all custom.......(but they are in Wisconsin)

|John is a fantastic builder. I have a Cherry Bomb and it is an incredible bike. I use it for 24 hour races, and I can't imagine doing those on anything other that the Bomb.|| |
