|It's been quite depressing here in NYC wil lot's of ice, snow and salted roads full of pot holes. I need warm weather on my bod. I thought about putting my new ride in the truck and heading south, but it seems the south doesn't have such great weather either. This was my winter project and I need to get some good miles in :O)
Specs: Full Record Carbon gruppo, Ksyrium SSL SC, ITM stem, Elite Patao cages and bottles. I may go back to Speedplay Ti from Look 396. As pictured 16.2 lbs!

|... I'm not a fan of compact frames and sloping top tubes... but that's smokin'...
Be careful now, or you'll fall under the UCI's somewhat arbitrary weight limit... thus ruining your pro career!
Be the bike.

|:O) This frame replaced the AL version. I was never a fan of compact geometry either until I purchased that AL TCR frame. I have traditional frames, but I must say that ther is something to the compact frame geometry that gives them a different feel. Zoom is a good way to describe it. Instantanious response to pedal action when up and sprinting.
I think with pedals, it will be well within the UCI limits. Now if I could just shave about another 8lbs of winter fat off of my body, this will be a damn good season.

|This is what it replaced. I would loved to have kept it, but we have limited space right now. I built a Klein Quantum Pro up for my fiance and I am not getting rid of my steel Colnago :O)|

|Stem/Post Question for Giant||Fez|
Mar 1, 2003 10:17 AM
|Nice bike, by the way. Was that a Giant complete bike or did you build up the frameset?
I notice you have an ITM Millenium stem on it. I seem to recall that Giant used to have special stems to go with the TCR bikes. Is there anything unique about the Giant TCR stem, or will anything work with that frame.
|Stem/Post Question for Giant||Live Steam|
Mar 1, 2003 11:23 AM
|I just bought the frame and built it up with my own choice of components. Actually the ITM stem will more than likely be changed out for either an Easton Carbon or ITM Carbon, once I deside upon the length I'll need. I had that ITM stem already. The Giant stem that comes on built-up bikes is carbon. You can go to their web site at http://www.giant-bicycles.com and get all the specs. The seatpost is a Record Carbon post I also had in my collection of parts :O) I may keep it or switch to a USE carbon post.|

|Yeah it does suck having to use the foyer as a shop. I put down a little drop cloth and that works. I used to have a great shop in my house, but the future Mrs. didn't want a of my old ghosts stalking her :O) I sold it and deposed a tenant from a one bedroom condo I own. It sucks having to pay for storage each month. One accumulates a lot of STUFF over 43 years :O) I can't wait until we move - where ever that may be. We are considering Scottsdale so we can leave these icy Winters behind. Anyone from AZ?|

|This sort of looks like my new ride. It sounds like you and I had the same project this winter. I wish it would warm up here in the NE so we could get these new TCR's on the road where they should be!
