Re: Recent flames

I'll admit my posts just after my accident caused a lot of crap. My frame selling thing caused a kafflufle. The board acted as if I had no conscience when in fact I did. Then of course theres my pet peeves of weight room stuff. Those incidences I apologize for. Compound this by the old nickname PODIUMBOUNDdotCA and theres a lot of grudges being held. I can't get away with anything.

For example; a post of a picture I thought was cool was treated as flame bait. I had people agree it was a cool picture!

Then like I said the whole nickname PODIUMBOUNDdotCA compounded this. The whole point when I made that nickname just after my accident was to get people to come to my website. And I know the name sounds egotistical and to a degree it is. But we needed a catchy name for sponsors and Podium Bound ended up being it. If you have a problem with that seriously frick off. Who do you expect me to go to companies as; Podium Hopeful, Podium Wannabe, Podium Dream? COME ON!

You can think my accident caused changes in me all you want but the thing is I am and always have been thick skinned and I am confident in almost anything I do. This makes me not back down very often and as some of you know when my experience allows it I have answered posts in a knowledgable manner. I speak in the first person in my posts which to some is first hand knowledge and others see it as self promotion. I'm giving free help so once again if you have a problem with it frick off.

I'll keep this brief. We all know I've accomplished things in my career, I hope to accomplish a lot more. I'm sorry for that.

"We all know I've accomplished things in my career" seriously, get over yourself.
It wasn't meant as egotisticalSprint-Nick
Feb 27, 2003 6:58 PM
It was meant as as thick skinned as I am I'm getting sick of people jumping down my throat because I mention something I've done in my career. I hate having to downplay my successes because people will flame me when all I am trying to state (NOT brag!!!) something I did for whatever reason. I hate something being taken as fricking self promotion when its not.

It comes off as egotistical.MR_GRUMPY
Feb 27, 2003 7:10 PM
It comes off as egotistical because:
(A) Some people don't have a clue how hard it is.
(B) People who know how hard it is are mad because they can't do it.

we all have careers and accomplishments - some off the bike some on the bike - do you see people going on about it here?

you are what 20? - you're a child - you've had no career - you drive your Mom's car - at best you competed (past tense) on the Junior Canadian Team a marginal cycling power at best

seriously try and control yourself - nobody cares
Good grief....enough already.Ahimsa

Nick,

Let me start by saying that personally I don't mind you at all. I find you about as annoying as...oh....say...fruit flies.

In general I do not read your posts simply because they do not interest me. That's no reflection on you of course, you do not come here to impress me, I simply just don't find your posts to be my cup o' tea.

That said, there are some here that do and that's fine.

Then there are some here that find you enormously irritating. Why they do not simply choose to ignore you is beyond me. It all seems simple enough. "Choosing ones battles" as it were. Alas, they seem to feed on your every slip and work themselves into a rabid frenzy over the most insignificant things.

Even still, their reaction to you is none of my concern. Don't get me wrong, I certainly do understand why they get so upset with you. I mean really, you are easily the most cheeky bastard that ever set foot in a chat room. You are annoying, you have a propensity towards ALL CAPS topic lines, you post silly pictures of yourself doing silly things, you tend to reply to everything anyone ever posts about you, you are a grade A know-it-all, and you are tops among the most ego driven, self-unaware, shameless prats I have ever come across.

This is not your fault of course, as you have demonstrated time and again that you are either:

A) incapable of controlling yourself
B)unaware of your pest-like nature
or
C)simply unconcerned with it at all

I will reiterate my position that personally I do not care about what you type on the subject of cycling, I tend to skip your postlings in favor of more toothsome subject matter.

I do however object to the recent rash of drama soaked psycho babble that has little to do with cycling and EVERYTHING to do with YOU. The fact that you are a cyclist does not automatically make things related to you personally "cycling related". This is not the Nick Review forum.

So I must request that you please stop with the garbage posts such as this one above. I think that you are a fine addition to the community such as it is, and I feel you should have full freedom to post whatever you want with the exception of "all things related to Nick and his Nickness and/or his personal dirty laundry".

Do you feel that you could accomodate me in this request?

Trust me when I say that if you were to limit this type of discourse to people you actually know in real life as opposed to strangers on a web page, you will be a better person for it, much more popular here on this forum, and in general more mentally healthy.

You must realize that on the internet there is a certain lack of tone and context. In real life it is much easier to get an accurate gauge of precisely when you are acting like an idiotic prick.

Thanks for listening, I hope you understand my position on this matter, and consider my request for at least three minutes before replying. Maybe you could even try to read it again first. I, like you, am truly only concerned for the greater good of the "community" here at RBR.

Thanks once more,

Cheers!

A.

You folks don't get it. Nick is stupid, and you folks spend a stupid amount of time responding to his stupid posts. Ahmisa above just took a good bite out of his time here on earth responding to an absolute idiot. Come on, folks, you can do better than this.

This coming from a guy that puts a 135 lbs barbell on his shoulders and jumps. Then he defends the madness by saying his coach told him to do it. Nick- do you have any friends at all? Have you ever had a girlfriend? I really doubt it.
HmmmSprint-Nick
Feb 28, 2003 2:22 PM
You can't make fun of my riding so you ask me about my friends and whether or not I have ever had a girlfriend? I feel like I'm in junior high again.

For the record the answer is yes... and considering I'm seeing someone right now I'll let you figure out whether or not I've had a girlfriend.

Somebody said it below, and it was dead-on right. Nick's aggravating, cartoonish persona is EXACTLY like Andy in his 'pro wrestling' period. Uncanny.

Feb 28, 2003 5:09 PM
This guy is either Andy Kaufman channelled through RBR; or most likely that 20ish kid from Canada [along with older brother] who still lives with his parents to further his amateur cycling "career" and was on Dr. Phil last Monday. The parents were asking for Dr. Phill's help in getting him to move out and support himself like a grown-up.
