Question about OLN TV schedule???kushogun
Feb 25, 2003 6:59 PM
Hello everyone! This will be my first full season of having OLN. I was curious what races aside from the grand tours they televise. I know the televised the world championships last season, but was curious if they show any of the classics? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep the rubber side down.

They have shown the Paris-Roubaix for 4 hours of live coverage the past two years, excellent. They have also shown the Amstel Gold race and Paris-Nice. Two races they didn't show last year were the Liege Bastone Liege and Milan San Remo. Anyone know if they will be showing them this year? Also, they way Ghent has gone the last two years that would be nice to see also.

They show a bunch of races, no way to remember them all. But they've also shown Tour de Suisse the last couple of years in addition to Langkawi and Tour Down Under. They typically show Het Volk. They've shown Kurne-Brussels-Kurne before as well. Paris-Nice live is something new this year. Of course they've shown Flanders, Roubaix, Amstel, Fleche-Wallonne. LBL has been shown in the past as has Paris-Tours. They also have shown 3 Days of De Panne, Criterium International, and, and, and... Really, they show quite a bit of good racing. They show some US racing too, including of course SF Grand Prix and even some races like the Nature Valley Grand Prix. I can't imagine they'll not show the Tour of Georgia...

I wonder what they will show this year. They don't have anything listed on the OLN site as to the races they intend to televise this year.

All I know is that thanks to OLN, I have a ton of great training videos to watch during the long winters here. I'm a little AR about taping cycling shows, I have to watch while I tape so I can edit out the commercials! :) And of course I record on SP! :) Just bummed I'll be in Orlando from 3/8-3/15 so I am going to miss Paris-Nice. Maybe the resort will have OLN? One could only hope! If not, the only saving grace is the Orlando Festival of Speed is 3/8-3/9 so I may have to go over to watch the circuit race on Sunday...

Was poking through the "to do" list on my Tivo and discovered that it was set to record Paris-Nice for me automatically. I pulled up the details and discovered it was LIVE coverage! Yeah! Tivo Rules! That's a good sign for the future of OLN - maybe next year we get live coverage of Flanders, Liege, Amstel, etc. Baby steps.
