On a serious note, i read an article about a wisconsin senator pushing for antitrust inquiry into midwest gas prices.

Consider the following:

1) gov't contends that pending mid-east action is "not about oil" and throws out the "fact" that we get a tiny (3% or 6%?) amount of our oil from iraq.

2) gas prices here have jumped roughly 20% or more in just over a few weeks.

with 1) & 2) in mind, can anyone show me how a pending war can affect oil futures so much as to create the price changes we've seen? does rationing/increased military consumption play a role?

personally, i think the antitrust idea has some merit. if 1) is true, i find it hard to be the root cause of such increases.

* the article also listed a winter gas to spring gas cross over as a possible cause, as well as probs with production elsewhere such as venezuela.
not everywhere though.yodlebike

there was a thread over on MB World a while back and a guy from Kuwait said he paid about $.80/gallon...for premium...must be nice. i'm up to $1.75 or so lately.

ran into spankdoggie on there a few months ago. got him a benz and quit riding i guess. don't see him flaming lazywriter here anymore. lol.
